In this tutorial, we configure the Examine System, allowing players to pick up, inspect, and rotate 3D objects to uncover hidden details using the Interact Anything framework.

1. Manager and Camera Verification

  1. Select the Examine Manager in your scene hierarchy. Verify that the Pedestal, Camera, and Collider Interactor are successfully assigned in the inspector.
  2. Inspect the Examine Camera. Ensure it is using the Cursor Interactor component.
  3. Configure the Cursor Interactor settings to specifically detect objects on the Examine layer.

2. Object Configuration

  1. Select your target 3D object in the scene (e.g., a Bell or a Photo Frame).
  2. Attach the Interactable Target component. Set the Interaction Type to Instant and define your UI prompt text (e.g., "Inspect").
  3. Attach the Examine Item component to the exact same object.
  4. Adjust the Drag Sensitivity to ensure the object rotates smoothly when the player drags their mouse.
  5. In the Interaction Events section, link the Open Examine View event directly to your interaction trigger.

3. Testing the System

Press Play and walk up to the configured object. Press the interact key. The camera will instantly transition into the Examine view, allowing you to freely rotate the 3D model from every angle using your mouse.
